Gone Fishing

So I went fishing for the first time in a LONG TIME — and it changed me. At first, it was just about tossing that line over and over, waiting, hoping, sometimes sighing when nothing tugged back. And it hit me… isn’t that just like life? How often do we keep showing up, texting back, creating, trying, giving our hearts out — with no applause, no answer, no quick return? Yet there I was, at the most peaceful lake, sitting still in my TRESS hat, curls tucked and protected, remembering the truth: the beauty isn’t in the “yes,” it’s in the journey.

I’ll admit, I lose sight of that sometimes. We all do. But fishing reminded me of the magic that’s here right now — the breath in our lungs, the air on our skin, the chance to try again and again. And let me tell you, sis, when the timing was divine, I caught the biggest fish of the day. Just like life — we don’t always know when the moment will come, but if we keep casting, keep believing, the blessings land right in our lap. And the best part? I was out there protected and cute, with my satin-lined TRESS hat keeping my hair safe while I lived fully in the moment.

So here’s my love note to you: keep fishing. Keep throwing yourself out there, even when it feels quiet, even when it feels slow. Because the joy is already here, waiting to be noticed. And when that big catch comes — oh, sis, it’ll remind you exactly why you never gave up. Until then, breathe it in, protect your crown, and remember — life’s too magical not to keep casting. 🎣
